I can’t believe the year is already coming to an end. It’s been quite a year in the compliance world, and I was excited to write about all of it.

As has become our annual tradition, here are my favorite blogs of 2025. Hop on over to any you’ve missed. And heck – reread the ones you already liked!

Top Ten

1. Why I Chose to Be a Compliance and Ethics Officer: This one was a labor of love. I thoroughly enjoyed sharing my feelings about this fantastic career. This one was originally written for Compliance Week, which was kind enough to let me share it on my site as well.

2. You’ve Got to Be Kidding Me: Your Summer (non-compliance) Reading List: Believe it or not, this was my most-read blog of the year. It touched a nerve. I still can’t believe that two people were texting from the stage during a panel discussion. Blows. My. Mind.

3. Your Summer (non-compliance) Reading List: If you didn’t or haven’t read all of the books on this list, enjoy one or more over the holiday lull. They’re a great way to prep for the New Year.

4. Six Do’s and Don’ts for Due Diligence Questionnaires: I recently had a huge breakthrough. A client asked me to change their legalese-drenched due diligence questionnaire into easy-to-read English! If only others would do so as well. This blog includes six other do’s and don’ts for DDQs.

5. Creating a Policy on Policies: I had the pleasure of presenting on this topic at the Nashville Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics conference. Policy management is always hard. This blog will make it easier.

The Wildly Effective Ways to Work with Functions Blog Series

Over the summer and into the autumn, I wrote five blogs highlighting wildly effective ways to work with important corporate functions. That included Legal, HR, Procurement, Internal Audit, and Finance.

These blogs are brimming with creative ideas about connecting with some of your most important partners.

See You Next Year!

2025 was a huge year for me. My company, Spark Compliance, was acquired by Diligent. I traveled the world for speaking and conferences, including to London, Lisbon, New York, Atlanta, and my favorite – Rio for the FIFA Global Compliance Summit.

It’s been a fabulous year, but 2026 is poised to be even better.

Take some time for reflection and rest this holiday season. See you in 2026!
